A transparent measure of research contribution.
CISBM ranks active members with a single, openly described score built only from verified information. It recognizes sustained scientific work and is recalculated whenever records are verified.
Research rankings are being prepared for publication.
CISBM is completing the verification behind the ranking. Members can already follow their own score and its breakdown in the member portal.

How the score is calculated
The score adds five components. Records verified by CISBM administrators count towards it, and the weights are set by the organization and applied equally to every member.
01
Verified publications
Each publication verified by CISBM administrators adds points. Publications affiliated with CISBM weigh more, and sole, first, last, or corresponding authorship carries a multiplier.
02
Citations
Citations of verified publications add a small number of points, up to a fixed cap, so the score stays balanced across a member’s whole body of work.
03
Affiliation
An affiliation tier from 1 to 5, assigned by CISBM administrators to the member’s primary research institution.
04
Degree
The highest academic degree held, from bachelor’s level to doctoral, postdoctoral, and professorial appointments.
05
Research experience
Years since the first verified research activity: the earliest verified publication, or a start year verified by administrators. Capped after a number of years.
